Ray-ban sunglasses is such an invention that possess a lot of benefits both for their healthy and the aesthetics of their bodies. There have been made many sunglasses from many companies across the globe. But the most famous are those that are being made in Italy by Ray-ban nowadays.
The Summer season has been too much severe in most parts of the world and it makes impossible for a man to come out without wearing sunglasses. The scorching heat and brightness of the Sun make it impossible to open the eyes at certain places. At confrontation with such problems, the only idea that struck our mind is to use sunglasses.
The sunglasses made by Ray-ban has gained so much popularity across the world that many other companies have started making duplicate copies of these sunglasses. This trend has made it a lot difficult for the people to buy original Ray-ban sunglasses. To make a right decision in purchasing Ray-ban sunglasses, one must be able to spot out the genuineness of these glasses.
Following are the main steps or things that would help you to find genuine sunglasses.
- Check the Retail Box
The very first thing to keep in mind while buying the Ray-ban sunglasses is to check the retail box for originality. On the original box, there are two barcodes, product serial number, model name, and lens description. Also, check that the box should not be too shiny or flimsy. This extra shininess or dullness is doubted as their being duplicate. Also, request the shopkeeper to let you check the glasses. If he does not allow you to check, leave those glasses because these may be fake.
- Check the Glasses Material
The next important check that should be made is its case and logo check. The case should be made of a high-quality material with an extraordinary finish. After that also check the logo engraved on the case. It is scratchable or roughly made, the glasses are not the genuine. Also, there should be a red or black line on the inner side of the case. The color of the logo and line can vary with model. At last, also check the button of the cover and it also should have logo on it.
- Check the Contents of Box
The next thing where you can easily trace out the genuineness of the glasses is checking the contents of the box. In case of Ray-Ban, the package should include Sunglasses, a booklet, manufacturer’s note, and the soft cleaning cloth. In this case, also check the quality of all these things. The paper should be of high quality and the printing should also be quality. The cleaning cloth in the box should also be of high-quality fabric which is always soft. There should be a red logo on the cleaning cloth at the right bottom corner. The finishing should also be exceptional and there should be no threads sticking on to it.
- Check the Sunglasses
Now comes the actual gadget itself and it should also be checked for its quality. The lenses should be smoothly fitted and should be of high quality. There should also be Ray-ban logo engraved on it with high quality. If this logo looks artificial and easily scratchable, the lens is not original. The sticker should also be of high quality. There should be RB engraved on the right bottom of the glasses.
- Check Temple Hinges
The next step to trace out the fake pieces is by checking the temple hinges. These should be made of high-quality metal. If these temple hinges are made of a cheap plastic material, the glasses are not the genuine ones. Moreover, these hinges should be properly embedded in the glasses and do not look to be glued. The arms on the hinges may also vary. The models before 2010 had 7 arms but the models after 2010 have 3 arms on the hinges. In some glasses, the hinges are attached with Philip screws to tighten these.
- Check Ray-ban Logo
The inside left temple arm should have ‘RB’ followed by the model number etched, along with the size code. Check if it has been printed properly, is centered and doesn’t peel off easily. The font should also be spaced and aligned properly. Also see the same on the inside right temple arm, which should have details of the Ray-Ban model, say ‘Made in Italy’ and have a stylized ‘CE’. Check all the serial and manufacturing numbers with the ones on the retail packaging. Note that thin arm glasses like Aviators may not have this
- Nose Pad
The next things that should be checked for being original are nose pads. In case of original or genuine glasses, these nose pads are also of quality material with RB etched on these pads.
- Temple Arms
The last check is the temple arms and these should also be of a quality material with RB attached to them. This logo should be so stuck that cannot be easily peeled off.
